Core Wounding Uncovered

Core Wounding Uncovered is the first workshop in the Path of Self Inquiry. This path is a journey that walks us through the necessary healing journey needed for embodied awakening.

We start by diving in to what’s hidden within us, right into the places that we have exiled from consciousness – our core wounds.

We all carry wounds. Even if we grew up with the best possible parents we still carry their inheritance within us. This may be seen as a rite of passage of being human, something we can eventually find gratitude for. Bill Plotkin writes of these core wounds that, “Perhaps the soul sees to it.. to catalyze a special type of personal development that requires trauma for its genesis.”

Many of us may not even be aware of what our core wounds are. Or we may know intellectually, we may have heard of having an ‘inner child’, but are completely separate from the embodied experience of that trauma. And that’s ok – it’s a process to discover and heal our wounding that needs its own time. If we try to go too fast we risk re-traumatising ourselves. If we go too slowly, we live only part of our potential. When we’re ready we approach the wounds gently, with love, sensitivity and awareness.

If you feel like you’re ready in your life to uncover your wounds, or to go deeper into the healing process, then this workshop is for you.

When we do, we can directly experience the wisdom offered by Jean Houston that, “The value of the wound is that it breaches the soul; the psyche is opened so that ‘new questions begin to be asked about who we are in our depths”.

By holding our wounding with care, by meeting these parts of ourselves with empathy and really seeing the truth of the suffering, it is possible to metabolize that frozen pain, to integrate the experience and to heal this deep injury. Which amounts to one step closer to our wholeness.

Each core wound, and we may have many, creates a fragmented part in our soul. As we heal, it’s as if we are recollecting and reuniting, resourcing our being, opening the possibility for Self-Actualization, the embodiment of our soul’s potential.

Beyond that, this healing process is a spiritual path, as each wound is a gateway to a particular flavour of Essence. As we sit in the discomfort of those wounds and the negative self-beliefs carried by them, we may open to nondual states of Being.

This is truly the first step on the Path of Self-Inquiry, and the path of healing. This work will be supported by an invitation to our ongoing ‘Inner Work Group’, meeting biweekly to deeply explore one’s triggers, wounding and experiences, resulting in deeper compassion, presence and connection with Essence, and Love.
