Listening is Love

Presence in Practice

The When and Where

Bellingham Washington @ Full Bloom

Saturday October 17th & Sunday October 18th 2026

10-6pm Each Day

What most relationships need is not more knowledge.

They need greater capacity.

Most people already know some version of the tools.

  • Use "I" statements

  • Reflect back what you heard

  • Validate feelings

  • Stay curious

  • Don't interrupt

We've read the books. We've listened to the podcasts. We understand what healthy communication is supposed to look like.

And yet...

  • When our partner is hurt, we defend.

  • When we feel blamed, we counterattack.

  • When shame gets activated, we shut down.

  • When old wounds come online, we lose access to the very capacities we value most.

The gap isn't usually a lack of knowledge.

It’s a lack of capacity.

When relationships becomes difficult, all the communication skills in the world can disappear in an instant.

Most relationships don't struggle because love is absent.

More often:

  • Hurt obscures love.

  • Fear obscures love.

  • Defensiveness obscures love.

  • Shame obscures love.

Listening is Love is a weekend immersion in conscious relationship, emotional intimacy, and authentic connection.

While many of the examples we explore come from romantic partnership, the principles at the heart of this workshop apply to every meaningful relationship in our lives: our relationships with our children, friends, family members, colleagues, clients, communities, and even ourselves.

If you have ever longed to listen more deeply, communicate more authentically, or present when relationship becomes challenging, this workshop is for you.

The workshop is not about learning what to say.

It is about understanding what happens inside us when we can no longer say it.

Together, we’ll explore what gets in the way of presence, connection, and understanding—and cultivate the inner capacity to remain open when relationship becomes challenging.

Drawing on decades of psychological, relational, and contemplative practice, Amitayus and El create a safe and experiential environment where participants can practice new ways of relating to themselves and others.

Presence is not something we either have or don't have.

It is a capacity that can be cultivated.

And when we learn to stay present with ourselves and one another, genuine communication becomes possible.

During This Workshop You Will Have the Opportunity To:

  • Recognize the protective patterns that emerge when relationship becomes difficult

  • Develop greater awareness of the emotional states that interfere with connection

  • Learn how to remain present when vulnerability, conflict, hurt, or fear arise

  • Practice listening in ways that foster trust, safety, and understanding

  • Explore the relationship between presence, intimacy, and authentic communication

  • Build practical scaffolding that supports deeper connection beyond the workshop

  • Experience being deeply heard—and discover what becomes possible when others feel deeply heard by you

  • Cultivate greater intimacy, authenticity, and connection in all areas of life

Join Us If You Want To:

  • Deepen intimacy and connection in your relationships

  • Learn how to stay present during difficult conversations

  • Better understand your emotional triggers and protective patterns

  • Listen more deeply to your partner, children, friends, clients, or colleagues

  • Cultivate greater authenticity, empathy, and compassion

  • Experience the transformative power of being truly heard

Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer another human being is not advice, solutions, or certainty.

Sometimes it is our presence.

Sometimes, listening, itself, is love.

“As an individual who hosts transformational workshop based festivals and who has personally attended 100's of transformation workshops, retreats and events. I can confidently promote Amitayus as being one of my favourite teachers and most competent and engaging workshop facilitators.

Amitayus has a honed ability to create safe, powerful and transformative containers. He is masterful at curating potent and engaging exercises to help you have an experiential and embodied experience of your own truth. He is highly skilled at  translating and communicating complex spiritual and psychological concepts so they are understood, remembered and easily applied.

If you have the opportunity to experience his work, I strongly recommend you do.  My life and the richness of my life experience has undoubtedly been enhanced through my connection with Amitayus and for that I have immense gratitude." -Lauren, from Melbourne, Founder of Seven Sisters Festival

"Infinite gratitude for making such a beautiful event. The synergistic effect of your presence, the environment, the group of people, the topics, and the group-bonding activities worked wonders at creating a temporary haven where people were able to feel comfortable, connect with others, share with authenticity, and to ultimately feel less lonely in this increasingly individualistic ego-centered world. The happy tears seen a few times throughout the weekend gave testament to the powerful and positive feelings that many people were experiencing." ~ Paul in Seoul

“I want to share with you once again, that I am still applying the teachings from the relationship workshop. I am also sharing some of these insights with friends and it REALLY helps their relationships. I could not have done this without you. I am infinitely grateful to the teachings and to your guidance. Utterly life changing!!” ~ Daan in Thailand
